Osteosarcomas are rare but extremely aggressive cancers of the long bones that metastasize rapidly and mainly affect young patients. Normally, combination therapies are used to reduce the size of the tumor and remove it surgically. In the case of an advanced stage or difficult location of the tumor, amputation is often the only option.
